Hurricane Gustav: our local response

Every chapter nationally is preparing for Hurricane Gustav to make landfall in the golf. Although we don’t know yet what sort of damage the hurricane will cause, the American Red Cross is mobilizing its resources and volunteers to respond to the aftermath and to open shelters for those currently evacuating. Red Cross shelters will provide vital resources such as food and a place to stay as well as mental health counseling, and other resources to evacuees.

The Santa Cruz County Chapter is currently mobilizing its volunteer base for possible deployment to the area.
